首先从词源来看total根本就没有含有权力的意思，因此无论是极权还是共产，其实都是表象，极致的权力其实是社会总体的思想高度同质化导致的，共产也只不过是总体主义为了推行自己的同化而披上的引诱人的外衣。
将这种一潭死水式的社会境况称为极权主义也给人带来一个错觉，即自己所做的恶事都是在极致权力压迫下不得已而为之的，即汉娜·阿伦特所论平庸之恶。
从今开始，我将不再使用“反共”来定义我的事业，应该说是“反中共”和“Anti-CCP”
讽刺的是，因为极权主义这个词已经占据生态位了，我分类标签时也只能用极权主义了

Although totality itself is not associated with power if we don't consider the context, but given the explanation from dictionary and other sources, this word turned out to be used to describe a way how governments function and rule, and the "total" part does have something to do with power, while the assimilated and obedient state of social members is just one of the requirements such gov forces upon them.
