confused about personal growth?
i am a timid person, working as a coder in china. a couple of months ago i decided to find a job abroad (to escape).
because picking up textbook knowledge and trying to get hired as a foreigner is no easy, every day i slacked off on company duties and spent a lot time in preparation of job seeking.
and thank god i actually manage to approach a position; only that i proved an early daydreamer under the presumption of leaving for a new embarkment soon so i became careless and irresponsible at my current job and thought my recently built shitmountain would be handed over to someone else - puuuhh, unfortunately the remote opportunity somehow fizzled out one day, and i now have to take in the shitmountain on my own.
tbh the past period of working and job seeking simultaneously was extremely weary, and my outlook of staying at the current company is a bit negative.
i now confused if i should just resign and fully commit myself to another round of job seeking (where i expect to extend target countries), or stay still and bide my time for economic recovery so that getting an oversea job might be easier?

My take is never resign from your company particularly in 2023 China. I've applied US jobs from China before and honestly the major challenge is your work authorization (I can legally work in the US so I got a decent job pretty effortlessly).
... or stay still and bide my time for economic recovery so that getting an oversea job might be easier?

Never stay still even in developed world, and do not expect any 'economic recovery' in China in foreseeable future. If I were you I would try some opportunities in EU for some blue collar jobs.
Instead of picking up textbook knowledge, I would study immigration policy for target countries thoroughly and get in border first.
